LA Highway Star

"If you're thinking of moving to Los Angeles, please stay the fuck where you are. Seriously."

Wise words from Kurt Sutter

Thanks, bro.

I'll do exactly that.

Jimi Hendrix (?) and the Mystery of the Shadow Wave Wall

Let's conduct a blind test:

Which popular African American musician would you say is portrayed in the drawing above?

a) Jimi Hendrix

 b) William DuVall

If you answered b) you are right and wrong at the same time... even though the one who really got it wrong was the author of this curious Jimi Hendrix-themed mural.

Try using a Hendrix picture next time, bro. It might help.

Don't tell me that's not Will, man LOL
If you want to know more about 'Jimi Hendrix Park', you can watch this video right here:

Personally, I wouldn't mind this monument existing, just for the hilariousness of it, so, if you're considering the idea of making a donation, please, DO IT! Do it now, and you will have the moral plus of knowing you're paying homage to not just one but actually TWO amazing musicians at the same time! What else could you possibly ask for?

AND this Jimi Hendrix Park thing has the extra advantage of being located in Seattle - because Jimi Hendrix was from Seattle, y'all. Yet another interesting fact I had somehow managed to overlook until now. It seems like every path is taking me to the Pacific Northwest these days... That's a refreshing change after LA, anyway.

Will, however, doesn't share the Seattle connection: he grew up in Atlanta and later (something like thirty years later LOL) moved to L.A., where he presumably still lives... when he's not out on tour somewhere, tearing his right hand to shreds LMAO

But, like I always say, you can't have everything, so shut the fuck up and deal with it.

At least, the portrait on Jimi's tombstone does look like him. That's nice for a change.

Oh, and if you're wondering why there's a weird white old lady speaking in representation of Jimi Hendrix, she's Janie L. Hendrix - his adopted sister. Apparently, she (along with her cousin Robert Hendrix) is in control of Hendrix Experience LLC (the company that manages the rights to all things Hendrix). She has been sued by Leon Hendrix (who was left out of the family business) a few times, so I guess she's most probably a mean bitch, but I don't have enough knowledge on the matter to discuss it in the depth it deserves. This whole thing seems fascinating though, so I promise you I'll do some research on the matter and come back with some answers... or perhaps I won't. That will depend entirely on my mood... and on all the huge pile of posts I'm already writing over here. I've been working on a really big project for the whole last month (which should explain the recent lack of updates), but there's nothing more I can say about it right now. You'll get to see it when it's published.

And, before you even get to ask me - YES, it's Alice-related. I try to keep my posts as Alice-free as I can, but what do you want me to do? I'm an obsessive piece of shit; I just can't get those guys out of my head all day LOL

And, oh, man... there's so much more to come.

You just wait and fucking see.
